#replicability
One nice thing about working on theoretical/computational science is that in principle we can have perfect replicability by just providing the source code.

One sad thing is that this never happens. Even when we have the code it doesn't run or produces different results.

I know I've mentioned it several times but I'm really hoping Once Upon a Katamari adds online leaderboards, it's one of those little things that adds so much replicability for me.

Reading a couple of studies claiming that few studies in psychology could replicate effects of previous studies, it became obvious these studies on replicability were themselves biased, failed to understand that the longer the time between original and replication, the higher the nonreplicability.

They also forget that there is an optimal window for replicability in studies involving humans, as there are many factors that change over time and that could influence results. These aspects do not make the fields such as social and behavioural sciences less scientific.

I see people who have taken their information from a couple of YouTube videos demand with authoritarianism that replicability should be pushed even when said studies cannot be replicable due to ethics, due to the fact that what they explored is meant to evolve or was an one-off event.

Science is often described as objective. Given the same evidence, anyone should reach the same conclusion. In reality, things are more complicated. Even in the most rigorous sciences, researchers’ per...

Replicability would lead to a collapse of the barriers around what people want and need
And we would have a post scarcity society that would liberate people and allow them to be playful and creative and friendly
That was the hippieish or post-hippieish aspect of Mondo—
“the machines of loving grace”
...though I was from a generation that had a lot of hippies and deadheads and so on, we were also the people who created the cultures of punk and new wave. I was in my mid-twenties when all that came along and it was a refreshing blast to my pot-soaked mind
