As is now tradition, this weekend we made the trip over to #RodleyNatureReserve to visit Dad's memorial bench.

3 years now, and every time I see some cool bird I wish I could tell him about it. He'd have loved to see the huge flock of Linnet - and the sparrowhawk thinning their numbers a little.

Beautiful #kingfishers at #RodleyNatureReserve #Rodley #Leeds. We weren't even really looking and just spotted them!

3 minutes away from seeing my first UK Bee-eater at #RodleyNatureReserve today.

Unknown to me I was walking towards it when it flew off. My wife saw it...

Gutted.

On Monday, it'll be 2 years since my dad died.

So today we made the trip across to Leeds to visit #RodleyNatureReserve and his memorial bench.

He was a volunteer warden for a long time, and for a brief time was a trustee. The bench is in his favourite spot on the reserve, down by the River Aire.

Had to be in Leeds yesterday, which meant a trip to #RodleyNatureReserve. My Dad's memorial bench is there - down by the river, so I always try to pop in when I can.

Green Sandpiper was the highlight until being trumped by a brief Hobby flyby - my first sighting here in 20 years.
