📚My Year of Leisurely Reading has come to an end. I found some good books I don’t normally read like The Rom-Commers,🇺🇸the Detective Sean Duffy mysteries🇮🇪 and the last spy novel John Le Carré wrote Agent Running in the Field.🇬🇧 Fave nonfiction was a DaVinci bio🇮🇹 and Blitzed: Drugs in the Third Reich.🇩🇪

Once writers are established—like both Center and McFarlane are—they probably talk to their agent and publisher to determine how best to spin their work. Center wrote a novel called THE ROM-COMMERS, "a rom-com about writing rom-coms," so maybe she wouldn't mind being called a rom com writer!

I’ve read so many books from this author (I think I feel about her the way some feel about Emily Henry) but this might be my new fave. Plenty of rom + it’s a book for every eldest daughter who is also a writer and also tries to fix everyone in life except ourselves.

I just finished reading The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center and it was amazing and joyous and sad and I finished it in like 3 hours and cried multiple times and woke the dog by laughing and her author’s note talks about this. Life isn’t just what happens. It’s the story we tell.
i don't mean to come off as rude but we cannot sustain ourselves on outrage and anger forever. i think it's even more important now to post about other things too. even if it gets less engagement. you never know who will find it cool and interesting.
It’s a real mindfuck when most ppl wanna post about their latest failures/successes, or weird shit they saw in the wild or cool stuff they made…but the country is a cesspool so cool/weird shit seems trite.
