Yeah, Shetlands are particularly goaty sheep. For good and ill! :)

They put a lot of ware and tear on the rooves of these shelters.

I've been back from Newfoundland for a month. I still keep St. John's on my weather app. It's 10C and windy there today. I bet my friend Irina has bundled up to go on a walk.

Salary sacrifice is a poor way of subsidising.

More cash for those with higher tax rates (meaning more income) is the opposite of what we should be doing - getting solar panels onto the rooves of fuel poor families. Poorer families have less salary to sacrifice, meaning less or no subsidy for them

I just meant that I liked the appearance of the canvas rooves better than that of the new wooden ones.

I like "dwaves" better, it's consistent with calves, elves, halves, knives, leaves, lives, loaves, selves, sheaves, shelves, thieves, wives, wolves, hooves, scarves, wharves, and staves. Also the archaic turves and rooves.

forgot to report the single funniest part of the wedding weekend which is that it turns out P's best friend is my mailman and the two of them spent half the later-night portion of the afterparty harassing me into letting P fix my fucked up porch rooves

When we are taking day trips, I admit to spending more effort than I should trying to get photos of interesting subjects as we zoom by on #TheRoad.

Sometimes I actually get the shot I wanted, like this farm on a beautiful day in Pennsylvania (probably along Rt 30). 26 July 2009

The Tatra Mountains (Western Carpathians) tower in the distance, their crowns veiled by clouds and their shoulders draped in snow.

Weaving through a field of lavender before the mountains is a fitted-stone path.

made accessible. Given a lift it's probably worth going up from Edinburgh's 4 storeys to Paris's 6.
Lined with trees and with businesses and shops at street level they make for nice places. The flats could be independently super insulated, the rooves covered with solar, catching rainwater,

Realizing I failed to commit to the plural of roof. It turns out "roofs" is the accepted standard form, and "rooves" is archaic.

The rooves and parking lots are not going to save you.

TNC made a very generous assumption about roofs (solar on 35% of them), and it gets us 10% of the way there.
