So happy that I got to see the Greater-Butterfly Orchid in flower again at @RSPBScotland Tromie Meadow yesterday. I saw 12 spikes in total in two different areas of the meadow, a lot more than I saw there last year.

This week marks RSPB's Volunteers’ Week, and I’m grateful to have been included in the activities with a spot of birdwatching. Thanks to the RSPB team for the opportunity and the appreciation shown to volunteers. Photo: Eiders taking off from the River Tay #RSPBScotland #conservation #volunteering

Absolute melts totally ignoring the wild fire warnings in place just now (not had rain for weeks) and with the grass and reeds as dry as a bone, they were lucky that their horrific BBQ didn't spread and cause some real damage.

This is why we can't have nice things. 1st trek down to the #RSPBScotland Black Devon Wetlands with granddaughter, spoilt a bit seeing some muppets had burnt the grass with one of those tin foil BBQs and then left all they'd brought at their arses. Even H-Pup, at 21 months, knows this is wrong. 😡

Rubbish photo as this beautiful wee Snow Bunting was moving quickly. A rare sight in the UK, and an amber list species, this beautiful specimen was mooching around us waiting for crumbs on the summit of Ben Macdui. #scotland #snowbunting #RSPB #RSPBScotland #Cairngorms

I enjoyed doing the @Natures_Voice @RSPBScotland #BigGardenBirdwatch this weekend. I recorded 46 birds in total; 14 different species. Highlights were redwing & a fly over red kite (Shame I can’t add that to the list!!) I wonder if #StormÉowyn will impact on this year’s results?
