A rather wonderful male Sparasion rufipes parasitoid wasp of the Scelionidae found on the shingle at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve.
Have only ever found one specimen of this genus previously, and at a different location. This was a good find!

A strange Scale Insect (presumably) found on the shingle at Rye Harbour near some sparse windblown grasses. Doesn't look quite right for Lecanopsis formicarum, but in that sort of area. Anyone got any thoughts?

A beautiful male Gelis sp. wasp found on shingle this morning at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. You can just see the tiny reduced wings. Not sure if it's possible to get to species. Female Gelis are difficult, but males are worse.
