Bad boy ancient space elf complete! Quick and dirty(ish) paintjob to get back in to the swing of painting minis. I didn't know what colours to paint him, so tried Akhelian Green (green?!) and highlighted it with Scale75 Innsmouth Blue and AK Ice Yellow and it worked! 😮

There's also Scale75, who offered wearable pins with Nazi heraldry on a Kickstarter.
(this could come out of nowhere, if you saw their 75mm scale models or very normal paints)
The hardest thing to replace will probably be super-matte varnish - varnishes are generally hard to match.

This one I started of a Hullred primer (Scale75), and then with drybrush, Game Color Gory Red, Orange Fire and Moon Yellow bulding up the colors a shade with Army Painter Red tone and then build up the Orange and Yellow again

Finally got a day off to continue with the test. All the crackle paint and putty is now dry so I primed black followed by Scale75 Nacar for all the flesh parts.

With this figure I mainly used Citadel paints, but for the skin I used Scale75 paints from their skin tone set. I also had black and white from Vallejo.

In general I also use some Army Painter paints and a bit more Vallejo if I happen to have a color on my shelf that I need at the moment.

What’s your process now? I tend to use a scale75 set now but to be honest I don’t think which paints you use matter, as long as they are half decent flesh colours. 5 is probably a reasonable number - deep shadow, mid shadow, base, highlight, top highlight.

Finding the Scale75 metal paints much better to use than Citadel ones (smaller particle size I think). Just a pity they don't have the same breadth of range.

Thank you 😊 Those were painted with Red Leather (Scale75) and then highlighted with Nacar (Scale75) gradually mixed in. I finished it with a wash of 1:1 Agrax Earthshade:Lahmian Medium.

Started blocking in colors on this funky dude. Mostly using Scale75 dropper bottles thinned with AK acrylic thinner. Bone work done in Tim Gore's Bloodlines "old bone white" from Createx.
