#self-collection
I would never say that the internet “isn’t real,” but it is good to remind myself that my self worth should not be governed by the opinions of people for whom I am a collection of pixels on their pocket screen

Donald Trump assembled this team to suit his twisted visions of vengeance, destruction, and self-aggrandizement. Never has a collection of people so unbalanced, unqualified, and unfit controlled the levers of federal government power. -- John Harwood

#OnThisDay in 1964: "I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits. I believe that what self-centered men have torn down men other-centered can build up."

Funny thing about this piece is thati couldn’t find a publisher. I ended up including it in my self published collection. It struck a chord with readers. Sadly, its relevance as a tale about Handala, the immortal Palestinian child refugee, keeps growing.

I mean most women rack up more than 6 over a lifetime, I don’t even have a huge collection or anything but it more than 6.

What an epic self own tho. Like everyone who sees it knows he can’t give a woman an O

In art, and in storytelling, my abiding fondness is for work which - to quote Seamus Heaney’s line about John Clare - “resolves extreme experience into something gentle”. For book club tonight we read Luke Paterson’s “A Savage Turn”, an astonishing, powerful, tough and enormously tender collection:

Still playing Fen Creatures to death. This made me wonder what other bands lurk in my collection who are in a similar vein to @fuzzylightsband.bsky.social? First up, this self-titled behemoth from Meg Baird’s Heron Oblivion.

I’ve been thinking about the manuscript for my collection. I’ve seen some folks traditionally publish collections that include a mix of new and previously published stories.

How does one land that kind of deal? Muneera and the Moon has done very well for a self published project.
