We are DROWNING on the frontlines. Ten years ago we had 1-2 SEND kids per class, & only 1-2 across a whole primary school with extreme SEMH/behavioual needs.
Now we have 6-8/class, at least a dozen with extreme need across 180pupils.
No money for TAs. A third of intake has mod-severe Sp&Lan need

That’s an interesting graph - a mix of administrative categories eg SEMH and diagnoses eg autism.
I wonder what numerical difference going from ending statements at 16 to allowing for an EHCP up to 25 has made to the numbers?
Not saying there isn’t increased demand, but…

Yesterday, we accepted a place for @LittleCamembear at a more specialised school (albeit one much farther from home) from September this year. Now we have to negotiate the next several tricky months till he can be supported in a setting that understands his complex SEMH needs.
