First day in Osaka! Visited Osaka Castle, the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, and Shitennoji Temple, and heading back out to Dotonbori this evening.
Osaka Castle stands atop a stone wall surrounded by a moat. Tree branches with cherry blossoms in the foreground creep in around the edges of the frame. A recreation of an Edo era Osaka village indoors with an arched roof and a projected sky as if it were the open air. Dozens of small, stone Buddha figures are lined up in rows at a shrine. Some are adorned with pieces of fabric, featuring writing in Kanji. The entrance to Toko-in Temple near Shitennoji, framed by stone pillars.
