Why did no one tell me about DioField Chronicles? I thought it was just another traditional SJRPG but no it’s one of those mid budget unique takes on the JRPG genre like we use to get early in the 360 lifecycle. I’m loving it.

I am having a good time with the solo journaling rpgs already! I will be referring to them as sjrpg or strpg (for the tabletop alternative to journal-style rpgs) when/if I speak on them here in the future.

I genuinely played until writing started making my hand feel all stiff.

I'd say it is a JRPG, albeit a Strategy JRPG (SJRPG?).

For me, I associate both turn based and action as JRPG, but I think that's considered a hot take in the JRPG community 😆

It's a crazy SJRPG. every one is different. 5 would be the best place to start because the grinding is more fun in that one. Plus the music is great and has great humor with an incredible story.

This simple mind will evolve under SJRPG conditions so I’m VERY excited.
