My word, the news is unrelentedly shit at the moment... so I'm switching to my Nature list only on BSky for a bit!

This female Ivy #bee was going her thing last weekend. The ivy was alive with bees, flies, and wasps, which was delightful. 😊 #solitarybees #wildlifefrommywindow #insects #inverts

Ivy Bees, Colletes hederae, are no longer a novelty here in Norfolk. Nonetheless, it's lovely to see them and to smell the heady scent of Ivy flowers on a sunny early autumn day.

First Ivy Bee (Colletes hederae) that I've seen in our #Staffs garden this year; a male. Lots of other invertebrates on the Ivy too, showing what in important resource it is. #bees #SolitaryBees #pollination #macro #photograph #biodiversity

Spent a little time this afternoon knelt by the Marjoram watching the Common Furrow #bees coming and going. They're dinky little #solitarybees (the face is a little over 2mm across) and they don't ever seem to stay still! #wildlifefrommywindow #ukwildlife #invertebrates #insects

The Thistle is proving a real sanctuary for old, tired, #leafcutter #bees this week. This poor dear is missing her front right leg. Am going to make sure there's a nice large patch of Thistle in the beds next year. #wildlifefrommywindow #gardenwildlife #solitarybees #invertebrates #insects

Spotted in the garden today this Coelioxys conoidea, Large Sharp-tail Bee. It's a cleptoparasite of Megachile maritima, the Coast Leafcutter Bee, so I probably need to review my Megachile IDs. This is a female, and I saw a male a while back. #Coelioxys #SolitaryBees

Tiny male Hylaeus (Yellow-face) Bee in the garden bee-hotel today. With the whitish colouration of the face, shape of facial markings, orange underside to antennae and suggestion of hairiness, this could be a Hairy Yellow-face Bee (H. hyalinatus). #macro #photography #bees #SolitaryBees
