I have been visiting this abandoned quarry in Lafki, Corfu, over the past 20 years watching the deterioration. Just 4 photos taken on 28/2/2025.

A derelict wooden wagon with iron wheels. The wooden body has collapsed and appears to be on the verge of parting company with the chassis. The remains of the body is propped up against the wall of the quarry. An abandoned bulldozer abandoned at the side of a track that disappears into the distance with foliage and shrubbery either side of the track. Electricity poles and cables lead off into the distance from the right. An abandoned tipper truck with no bonnet/hood and the engine exposed. A large fan is prominent at the front of the engine. Both of the cab doors are wide open. The truck has grass, weeds and shrubs growing around it. Abandoned quarry with rockface on the left with trees and foliage on the right. The main subjects are an abandoned bulldozer on the left and an abandoned truck with its doors open on the right. In the middle distance is a derelict wagon. Electricity cables and pole lead off into the distance.

Another Akron landmark, the Rt. 8 Bridge, is not long for this world. Currently, the 75-year-old bridge sees north of 100,000 cars cross it daily. The new bridge will double the current capacity, with four lanes running each way.

I took a short walk from Loutses towards Ipsilas on 25th January with a Sony A7 and a selection of Hexanon lenses. Trees are a subject that I particularly like!

Converted to B&W in On1 Photo Raw 2025; a light selenium toner effect added.

Although Corfu can be quite wet in winter, we have the occasional bright sunny days. (It's still quite cold though!)
