Jesse Owens
(See ALT)
Owens saw the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games as an opportunity to prove himself on the world stage and to discredit ideas of racial inferiority in the United States. He ultimately showed his personal best by winning four gold medals in track and field.

Haven't watched the Olympics since NBC made it pay-to-watch. The games should be about sportsmanship and unity, not flipping a quick buck and excluding anyone who won't pay you. Fuck corporations and fuck billionaires.

Saying it’s not just about the shot you make but also what you leave has a double meaning that’s about good sportsmanship. 🥌
February 13, 2026 at 2:27 PM
I mean, a goofy, raunchy comedy movie along these lines just writes itself. Like, some horny idiots make up a fake sport to con their way into the Olympic village so they can try (and fail) to hook up with athletes way out of their league, only to learn an important message about sportsmanship.

Now that I think about it, why should I believe that someone who habitually crosses the lines of sportsmanship “would never” intentionally use PEDs?

Fair-play
Olympic sportsmanship, not money
The NHL player all trying to be Tunney
Throw that punch, take out opponent
Olympian fair-play how sports is meant

The Olympics should stand for peace and sportsmanship. Instead, from promoting Nazi Germany to “neutral” Russians, from “Chinese Taipei” to disqualifying Ukrainians, the pattern is the same: the IOC chooses victim-blaming and accommodating dictatorships over Olympic ethics.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) was founded in 1894 in Paris by Pierre de Coubertin with a noble goal: promote peace through sports. Politics out, sportsmanship in: sounds great in theory.

The important thing is that was the last Australia game in a decent time slot for us anyway. So no real point moving through to the next round. Good sportsmanship to step aside for Zimbabwe.#T20WorldCup 🏏

One of those things where you wonder how they got the idea in the first place! I've only really watched the snowboarding and the women's big air was incredible. And such wonderful levels of sportsmanship .

Something's wrong with these Winter Olympics henrytapper.com/2026/02/13/s... As the athletes continue to dazzle with their skill, it’s impossible not to admire the sportsmanship. What a pity that the organisers have so tarnished the occasion by exploiting the hospitality on which the Games depends.
Something’s wrong with these Winter Olympics
It is very wet in the UK and that has probably good for those who have hosted the Winter Games in Northern Italy – it has kept us inside watching various sports we aren’t very good at. …

Let’s talk Pickleball etiquette.
If you can't see space between the ball and the line, it's IN. Simple as that!

One of the things I most respect about hockey, no matter how intense the game, in the end both teams line up at center ice and shake hands, congratulating the winner. That's class and sportsmanship.

Team USA showing the world-class sportsmanship this squad's known for, I see. 🙄

Whining little bitch just won’t STFU up. Say goodbye to good sportsmanship, as we continue to watch our history be rewritten and our racial and other progress erased. 😎🤬

By allowing other athletes to remember the deceased while denying an Ukrainian athlete that same right, the organizing body is moving away from sportsmanship and toward a biased political stance.

IMO they really need a poor sportsmanship flag. So many players will alt + f4 mtga forcing the winning player to literally sit through their entire remaining timeouts before they can do anything

Mtga can’t know if the user intended to force quit and not come back or legit DC’d and is trying, but…

The athletes in the Winter Olympics could teach world leaders a thing or two about competitive, fair and professional adversary carried out with obvious respect and sportsmanship.

Super sad that she fell, but incredible sportsmanship
February 12, 2026 at 8:14 PM
Exactly. That’s the point. Symbols of remembrance or identity are allowed selectively, while others—especially those honoring victims of war—are censored.

It’s not about respect or sportsmanship; it’s about politics and inconsistent rules. #DoubleStandards #IOC #FairPlay

Watching her display the kind of sportsmanship we need to see is pretty great. I also loved watching her boyfriend be nervous. And that he’s now Chloe Kim’s boyfriend until next football season.
