Im a writer of erotic novellas and short stories, having self published several books under my Beautiful Beasts imprint. For these, Ive comissioned Man Carot to draw the covers of the first three. Books 4 and 5 are on the way.

I once saw a stag with a full rack & it was the most impressive thing I have ever seen on any animal. I had to watch from a tree because there was no way I was getting on the ground anywhere near him but he was magnificent. They are rare here because of hunting. I will remember I saw Cernnunos once.

Been working on these for a while and now they're finally done! Had so much fun w/ them~

(Descriptions of each character's animal and explanation of my HC choices in the alt text!)

Giyu - River otter. This choice was primarily because I felt like picking something that fits with his water breathing, and I also wanted to go for something a little more unconventional animal-wise.

Shinobu - Rabbit. It was a tough pick between rabbit or cat for her, but rabbit ended up winning me over because they are quite agile and quick on their feet, and rabbit ears kind of look like moth antennae! Rabbit also fits well for her sister too, being the Flower Hashira n' all that.

Rengoku - Lion. Pretty on the nose, but I always associated lions with fire. It also helps that his flowing hair looks like a lion's mane, and he is a very noble and passionate man which suits the brave demeanour lions are typically depicted as!

Uzui - Eagle. This one I admittedly picked because I wanted a little bit of variety from the mammals - but a bird can fit his very flashy style well! Especially a powerhouse like the eagle. They're majestic as fuck, just as the God of Festivals should be!

Sanemi - Badger. This one is mainly because I think his brother Genya would fit perfectly as one - and badgers can be pretty vicious which ties in to Sanemi's hardass personality.

Muichiro - Deer. Deer can be quiet and a bit aloof, but also very graceful which works with his fighting style.

Iguro - Sable. I COULD have picked a mongoose, but I wanted to keep my animal choices to creatures that are either found in east-asian regions, or prevalent in east asian art (like with Rengoku for instance). Sables are close enough, I suppose!

Mitsuri - Red Panda. Mainly because much like her, red pandas are super adorable! It also matches her pink hair too~ (as a side note- if I had to pick a hashira to my self-insert sona to train under, it would be her for sure!)

Gyomei - Bull. Cattle are very big and strong, and I guess if I had to associate an animal to stone/rock elements, it'd probably be something with hooves!

Muzan - Wolf. Wolves are a very classically-feared animal so something simple but effective could work for him.

Kokushibo - Stag. Kokushibo is already a pretty imposing character- fully grown deer can also look pretty intimidating if done correctly.

Doma - Snow Leopard. My choice of snow leopard for him is primarily due to his ice abilities! And also a heavy dose of personal bias, snow leopards are very pretty and so is he.

Akaza - Tiger. It honestly suits him well for his martial arts skills, since he is pretty ferocious in a fight. I guess the markings on his body also read as tiger stripes too to me! (I imagine Hakuji's stripes would be small or thin...)

Nakime - Barn Owl. I wanted something avian for a little bit of variety- Originally I was thinking a crane for her but realized, an animal with good eyesight like the owl would be really good too. Owls can also be pretty spooky...just like her~

Hantengu + Zohakuten - Bat. I'll admit this one was a bit of a stretch. I guess because bats are usually associated with villainy and can work as a frail creature for Hantengu? But with the right design conventions it can work for his clones too.

Gyokko - Fish. Mainly because out of all the upper moons, he has the freakiest design, so I wanted something that fits not only that look but also his blood demon art!

Daki + Gyutaro - Weasel. This one is more for Gyutaro, but with his sickle weapon, I wanted to invoke the idea of him being sort of like the kama-itachi. Weasels are also a commonly villified animal in fiction so it can fit for his nasty demeanour! As for Daki, she is one too but of course depicted in a much more flattering light~

Kaigaku - Lynx. Honestly this one is more based on vibes really. Since he is essentially Zenitsu's rival in Infinity Castle, I wanted something feline to his mouse depiction, but preferably something a little different!
