In Shakespeare's day, girls and women were typically performed by boys and men. And that's not even delving into all the ways with which he plays with gender and gendered stereotyoes in *everything he ever wrote.*
And it all ranges from disturbing to damaging for Women espically flat chested women and the stereotyoes they often get thrown into. I even see Women writing things like this and it just always hurts my heart tbh. All Women should have the chance to be loved and respected for who they are.

i simply think the misconceptions around what shoujo manga are aren't shoujo specific. people don't get manga demographics in general and assume things based on stereotypes. and a lot of battling against the stereotyoes around shoujo is then running into stereotyping shit in the other direction
