Trump just ordered the Pentagon to resume nuclear weapons testing, a move that could reignite a dangerous global arms race.

He's also furloughed nearly all federal workers responsible for overseeing and safeguarding America's nuclear stockpile.

Consider the possibility that people are receiving SNAP benefits because they don't have enough money to stockpile food.

If families *could* stockpile an extra month of food away on SNAP, Higgins would say that proves they’re receiving too much benefit.

Disabled people can rarely stock up.

We lack the funds, physical ability AND space to stockpile.

Many special diets eliminate canned and frozen food.

Lastly you can’t “stockpile” when living paycheque to paycheque.

They just want to blame the poor so no one helps them

It’s a cull.

Jared Kushner in 2020: "The notion of the federal stockpile is that it's supposed to be our stockpile. It's not supposed to be states' stockpiles that they then use."

Let's help Clay out here with some math.

The $4200/yr. is for a household. Average SNAP household has 1.9 people. So that's $2210/person.

$2210/year is $184/month, and that's a little over $6. per day.

Clay, let's see you stockpile groceries on $6/day.

Hell, let's see you eat on $6/day.

1. Russia has a slightly bigger stockpile than the U.S.
2. No one has tested nukes aboveground since 1980.
3. Since 1998 only N. Korea has tested nukes (underground).
4. Obama launched the renovation of the U.S. stockpile. It's not complete; timeline stretches into the 2040s ($ is headed for $2T).
None of this is correct. Good thing we have a steady hand on "nuclear"

sure hope no one needs anything from the strategic national stockpile, which isn't just for pandemics — it's for providing critical medical supplies for major public health emergencies in general, like chemical spills and nuclear incidents
Got a new story about a little-known HHS agency with a massive job: the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR).
ASPR gave us Operation Warp Speed.

In short (but please read it!): ASPR coordinates the national stockpile, develops vaccines and treatments, manages crisis response and should—right now—be planning for future attacks and pandemics. This is who we've entrusted it to: www.msnbc.com/msnbc/meet-a...

Nevadans still remember the nuclear testing era, and it left lasting radioactive contamination across millions of acres of land.

Our nuclear stockpile is annually certified to be both safe and effective, and there’s no evidence that resuming explosive testing is necessary.

One thing I recently updated: US supercomputing zoomed past the benchmark established for stockpile stewardship (100 tflops) and also China has too. The Chinese have the computers to design new weapons, but what they don't have is the data from nuclear testing -- yet.

SNAP's about $200 per person per month. So every person in the household gets about $50/week for food. To stockpile a month of food when everyone's getting $50/week is a ridiculous ask.

“Stockpile a months worth of food”, where? In the pantry of their huge mansions, Clay? Most of the people on SNAP are pulling way more hours than you while raising their kids. And are obviously better at math.

Eat ALL the bags of dicks, Clay! In fact anyone saying this crap should eat only dicks!
