Love it when the black sand dunes at Stokksnes are frosty :)

Black sand dunes partially covered with frost accentuate the undulation of the dunes. There are tufts of brown dead grasses on them. Beyond is a big jagged mountain range with deep blue skies above. There is a small amount of snow on the peaks. The dunes are partially in shadow as the sun rises.

The horse had a black-grey coat. It reminded Aida of the volcanic sand at Stokksnes Beach. But more. In its eyes was a shimmer, as if a midnight sea pricked with stars was caught there in reflection.

No matter the weather, you simply can't take a bad photo of #Stokksnes and #Vestrahorn. That’s what an Icelander told me. Funny enough, on my first visit, the fog was so thick I couldn’t see a thing. Lucky not this time.
