Korea is about to launch the first KSS III batch 2 boat. The submarine carries the designation name SS-087 "Jangyeongsil". KSS-III batch 2 features an increased missile armament of ten VLS cells, and LIBs instead of lead acid batteries. Displacement increases by ca ~250 tons, to 3,600 tons surfaced.
