The Quebec-class submarines had deep diving submersibles onboard? Surely you mean the India-class?

Very interesting article at any rate.

You'll be hearing plenty of lies and propaganda about Venezuela shipping a bazillion tons of drugs via tiny fishing boats (which, incidentally, would have to refuel at least six times to reach U.S. waters) and submersibles (!).

Just keep in mind: IT'S THE OIL.

Venezuela's oil exports surpass 1 million bpd for first time since 2020, data shows
Venezuela's oil exports averaged 1.09 million barrels per day (bpd) in September, the highest monthly level since February 2020, according to shipping data and documents from state-run energy company PDVSA.

I haven't been playing much lately. Real life is overwhelming at times, but I always try to log in to play with the submersibles. #ffxiv #mmorpg #viera #ffxivviera #dawntrail #shadowbringers #endwalker

#FishADay Varicus lacerta Godzilla Goby. Known from mesophotic reef off Curaçao, only known from one specimen. Recent explorations of deep reefs worldwide by submersibles and technical divers have shown there is still LOTS of work for marine fish taxonomists to do.

properly designed deep sea submersibles are too rare and valuable to throw away, since there's only ever been a handful built

A mysterious redacted expert in submersibles was interviewed by the Coast Guard during the OceanGate Titan investigation.

It is seemingly James Cameron — “Well, I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic”

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Gymkata."

Maybe it's some other guy who likes submersibles and directed a movie named Titanic, who could possibly be sure?
Great moments in redaction history.

It's a usable submersible. It also exists as a test platform for a lot of new technologies that will be applied to any future submersibles they build, like the foam body and lithium batteries designed to withstand the pressures at that depth.

I still think it's funny that James Cameron started out as a movie director and now mostly makes movies when he runs out of money to build and operate his submersibles and/or to have an excuse to get the studio to pay for shit

Oh, no doubt there are drug-carrying submarines, or "submersibles"...but can you imagine SURVIVING a missile strike in one? This is like living in the "Twilight Zone"

Who knew James Cameron is a serious expert in deep sea submersibles?

One of a very small number who know how to design them?

And thoughtful as anything.

He may not be a computer expert, but he knew enough about submersibles to have a manual get me out of here button.

He also took responsibility for the computer failure too. I doubt Stockton Rush would have.
