The flowers are typically white and have a conspicuous purple ring or nectaries on the tepals.

Tall Sundew Drosera auriculata

Carnivorous plant with a tuberous root. Single erect stem (occasionally branched) to 50cm long but generally much less locally.

One pink flower with five petals sits at the tip.

Ghost Hare throws a good Halloween party, even if SOMEONE is still fighting with the Sundew next door! 👻🎃

A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of Quico Vicens-Picatto’s monsters (a beholder and a carnivorous plant) at the Halloween party of my OC Ghost Hare.
The carnivorous plant is purple, and holding a purple drink in a martini glass in one of their three biting flower arms, dipping a head petal in to drink (they have one eye in the center of their head flower). A Siamese cat is poking at one of the other flower arms on the left.
The plant is glaring at a red beholder, whose eye tentacles and polyps are all pulling away, while their center huge eye is looking at the plant.
The plant is saying “And then she says… oh, I’m sorry, am I BORING you?!” to the beholder, who is saying “Huh? No, no! I just want, erm… a snack!”, while gesturing to the snack table.
Above the snack table, Ghost Hare is floating, smiling, and holding a bright orange cocktail with a whole carrot in it.
There are two tables with orange tablecloths, right and left; the right table has a bowl of chips and pink cupcakes, the left has a carved pumpkin, a skull, and a candle.
The back wall has a big black banner with “HAPPY HALLOWEEN!” written on it in orange.
Bottom right is written: “idea and carnivorous plant by Quico Vicens-Picatto, inspired by his beholder! :)”.
Both plant and beholder are not nearly as elegant as his, but I (and the cat!) are having fun! Happy Halloween!

Figured since everyone liked the apple doodle that I might share a previous one I made of him sunbathing among some sundew 🏵🍎☀️

Apple in the Island au commonly can be seen enjoying the nature he surrounds himself in and quite often nutures and gives back to as well. He uses it as a means to get foods for everyone whilst also being able to add to fauna and floras growth on the island they call home, even if some of it might not be as sweet or as friendly as he is. 💛🍎🌳

Yunan cocks an eyebrow and gins in interest.

Yunan: A frog style? Intriguing! I understand Felicia Sundew in Wartwood is quite the martial artist! Last time I boarded in her spare room, I overheard her training her daughter at night. It sounded rigorous! But are you sure you want to face me with an amateur technique? Marcy will tell you I don't go easy on rookies!

We see a brief Flashback of Felicia "training" Ivy, both completely nude with their hair hanging free, scissoring vigorously with a stern look on her face as Ivy moans.

Felicia: Remember your lessons, Ivy! Now, Boil the kettle!

Anne winds up a full length sumo stomp and slams it down hard enough to crack the stone beneath her bare feet as she prepares for her match against Yunan.

Anne: Who are you calling a rookie? Let's do this!

Yunan immediately pops her level three super and slides towards Anne on one foot, leaving after images behind her as Anne watches the Raging Demon approach her, still in her squat, feeling somewhat impotent.

Anne: Wait, wha-

Waxlip orchid ((Glossodia / Caladenia major) with sundew (Drosera sp. - probably D. auriculata) near Mallacoota,VIC. Lots of both sundews and orchids out here in coastal heathland heading into spring - but hot/dry weather since then has seen both suffer a bit in recent weeks #orchids #sundews

Every where I go in Western Australia, these tiny, unassuming, ground-dwelling Drosera (sundews) have begun a mad race up the nearest object (like an ant infected with Cordyceps) to put out out sprays of completely unexpected flowers. I almost feel if I stand still they'll be scrambling up me

Endemic to southern parts of Australia, the carnivorous Pimpernel Sundew (Drosera glanduligera) with its lovely orange flower. This one was growing on a lush bed of moss and was covered in early morning dew drops

Mead start! This is will be a sparkling hopped mead, with buckwheat flower honey, Omega Sundew (Belgian Ale) yeast, and O2 free dry hopped with Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops. Starting gravity was 1.038, so it should be about 5-5.5%. (Equipment notes added for those curious) #mead #homebrewing
