#telly
Those are very important if you have a habit of falling asleep in front of the telly.

The riot scene at the start of Scarface is some of the best worst crowd acting in cinema history. You have to watch it whenever it's on though because it's such a good excuse to enthusiastically shout "COCKEROACHES" at the telly for a couple of hours.

Anyway, that was dire.

Amazon keeps pushing the 2008 Robin Hood telly serial at me and I am once again reminded that the real villain is not evil sherrifs or grasping nobles but an idiotic king bankrupting his country to fight the Pope's stupid war.
NW: Red Sonja (Prime). It's beautifully shot but I'm not sure even Bobby Sheehan as the evil emperor can save this turkey

That said, it's been a great Christmas. We didn't have yule log, figgy pudding or Christmas telly. Most of the day was spent wrangling two small kids and you know what, exhausting as that was, it was also much lovelier than years past of trying to entertain wider family members.

Just when you thought it was safe to turn off the telly.

I'm away to my bed. Exhausted. Hoping any forthcoming drama is confined to the telly..

Finding Father Christmas wins telly this week. It’s a delight

Best programme on the telly 🤣

I’ve been watching telly but you’ll never guess which show.
December 26, 2025 at 10:24 PM
Doesn’t look like it unfortunately… we plugged the laptop into the telly…

A wee boxing day tradition for me and Mrs Kelly, watching Father Ted on the telly 🤣

Thought for a Sunday teatime telly drama, post Second World War trauma was dealt with very well in the latest series of All Creatures Great & Small EXCEPT reference to the “liberation” of Malta - it was never occupied! The entire point of the war in the Med! How does this stuff get through!?

We at least get AFCON on free telly.

I really enjoyed what I watched of Mr Robot, good bit of telly.

Oh the net on this shit stretches far and wide mate.

Over unders , readers on bridge.

I’ve got one pair for the "Cloud" (BlueSky), one for the "Fire" (Firestick), and the third for... well, Earth. I'm basically an elemental wizard of optics. 🧙‍♂️

With it being Wren Day, or Lá an Dreoilín in Ireland, I've been doodling in front of the telly and professionally defaced another copy of Tales Accursed with a costumed Wren Boy, which I've made available in the shoppe...

I've got a free trial of Apple telly what's good?

Neil Hannon of the Divine Comedy was on telly last night and he said as a teen, he attempted to write out the lyrics to REM's "it's the end of the world as we know it",

I also did that, did you do that?

My main takeaway when it comes to low TV ratings at Christmas: do most people just *not* have the telly on in the background any more? Even if you're doing other things, it's nice to just it chattering away.

No, but same source - Coffee Achievers was a massive marketing campaign by the US Coffee Association aimed at convincing yanks that we weren’t caffeinated enough. They ran telly and magazine ads everywhere, constantly, equating drinking coffee with achieving things in life. Weird, right?

Neville has given up on pretending. Might as well have Goldbridge on the telly
December 26, 2025 at 9:33 PM
Had 2 full days of it, and my wife's just told me to go out for a few hours tomorrow, go to the record fair, grab some ramen at the food court etc, she's OK she can binge some telly , she can tell i'm absolutely wired!!!
December 26, 2025 at 9:24 PM
This was BY FAR the best thing I’ve seen on telly this Christmas

I cannot recommend it highly enough. Perfectly captures the creepy nature of 70s British children’s television and reinvents it anew

The funniest horror or the scariest comedy you’ll see this year.

He sat there watching snooker on the telly and didn't even acknowledge I'd entered the room. Fuck em!
December 26, 2025 at 9:14 PM
they're putting save % on the telly, Pope is top 3 in the league, Ramsdale is bottom 3. Seems a bit mean

Woltemade scored two goals last game from crosses and chaos in the box, why have they forgotten then

Love Hall to bits, stunning player. Wish he'd stop trying to dribble thru all of Man U team
