Meet the strange and unusual creatures called the Bunyips! Named after the Aboriginal mythological creature known to haunts rivers, swamps, and billabongs-- these Bunyips are very different from their Aussie cousins. In fact, the "bun" in the name is quite literal, but don't be fooled. Bunyips are seemingly normal looking bunnies until you see their four eyes, odd colors, and that grabber tongue that stretches over six feet in length! The tongue also serves as a secondary mouth to ingest larger prey up to four times their size. These little guys live just about anywhere and are able to climb like tree frogs and geckos! This bunyip is a rich rust color on the under belly with a darker fade on the back, vibrant strips of gold and orange decorate the neck and limbs. The eyes are a bright purple and magenta with a vibrant pupil of bright yellow. In the upper left corner is a bust of the bunyip with it's mouth open to show it's grabber tongue. This bunyip is the a near-black, deep red with irregular markings of yellow, cream, brown, and black. The markings look like that of a bumble bee poison dart frog. The eyes are a bright red-orange with a vibrant iris of neon green, the pupil bright yellow. In the upper left corner is a bust of the bunyip with it's mouth open to show it's grabber tongue. Bunyips are seemingly normal looking bunnies until you see their four eyes, odd colors, and that grabber tongue that stretches over six feet in length! This bunyip is the grey blue of the nightsky with splotchy cream colored markings on the rump and face to look like clouds. The same cream color is on the underside of the body and tips the toes/feet. On the forehead and hip are star shaped markings that glow. Around the eyes in the white cloud markings there are two small crescent moon markings as an accent. The eyes are a bright blue with a vibrant double colored iris of lilac and white, the pupil bright yellow. In the upper left corner is a bust of the bunyip with it's mouth open to show it's grabber tongue. The tongue is tipped bright yellow, fading to pink and the same shade of cyan blue as the eyes. Omen Beasts are creatures based on one of the haunting manifestations of the Legend of the Bell Witch and my own twist of spooky inspiration! No two are the same and each one brings its own omen with it. These can be anywhere from good to apocalyptic, the energy of these strange beasts carries the unknown for those in their path. The single horned beast of legend that represents purity and innocence, a symbol of royalty and magic, beauty and wonder-- something to be coveted and kept under lock and key. Or so the foreboding told for this beast whom is trapped and pinned by a golden spear. The creature is a hybrid of canine, rabbit, unicorn, and magic beings in rich shades of lilac and purples. The mane and tail are long, wavy and cascading down its form as well as spreading to the legs. Upon its forehead is a large curved horn that's pearlescent and shimmering. This bountiful beast comes at the end of summer to bring the bounty of fall in its wake. #tempusadoptus #tempusobscura_art
Omen Beasts are creatures based on one of the haunting manifestations of the Legend of the Bell Witch and my own twist of spooky inspiration! No two are the same and each one brings its own omen with it. These can be anywhere from good to apocalyptic, the energy of these strange beasts carries the unknown for those in their path. Cloaked in the various shades of the fall with the last dredges of summer fleeting in it's coat, this beast heralds the autumnal shift. It's head is robust shades of brown that fade down the body to a less saturated tone. This mimics the frost covering leaves along the fall landscape. Upon its head is a bountiful crown full of green and red grapes, gourds, a pomegrante, apples, a pear, wheat, and braided sweetgrass and flowers. The crown travels down into a veil of bright red maple leaves held together by a chain of sunflower seeds and buckeyes.
