It needs thoughtfulness on how it would best benefit a Deaf audience, audience education to understand an interpreter’s role (hearing people can get TOO fascinated by the presence of an interpreter), and some other fine points but I don’t think we’re far off.

there's a BIG school of thought that prioritizes the thoughtfulness of a GIFT over dirty MONEY that is doubtless a factor here.
but yes, gift cards and plain MONEY much more useful, more transportable, allows ppl to buy the food their family needs and not try to eat someone else's idea of food...

We need more young men and women like him. I am infuriated that the US has traded intelligence, education, and thoughtfulness for hate, ignorance, and stupidity. My hope is in this younger generation because ours has failed the US.

That's my take on it too - it's more about what digital systems I use that could be involuntarily shared (Ring can share to law enforcement without my permission, Alexa is just a nope)

Anyway, congrats to Graham Platner for doing the thing he should have done when he sobered up in his 30s. Still not sure that really shows he’s got the thoughtfulness and maturity Congress requires, but that’s up to Maine.

I (and perhaps you) get confused because we think intellect has to be connected with wisdom or thoughtfulness, but it just doesn’t. Intelligence is values-neutral and amplifies whatever it is pointed at.
