It's not a technology when it's all smoke and mirrors.

You just buy the url to an image of an ugly ape... Hosted on tinypic. That's it. Was a comical sight seeing the links of NFTs go bad revealing their true identity.

When adopts are more straightforward.

I do sometimes wonder if there still exists stuff I made when I was really young online, for the most part it seems most sites I used ending up defunct and I doubt anyone really wanted to save the art I made at the time.

For places that do still exist I used to use stuff like tinypic so...

Most of the internet is gone. Emails were the only safe place to store things. Tinypic, photobucket, Megaupload, imageshack, are ALL gone or purged old data. We lost so much invaluable information, tutorials, open-source materials, and art over the years.

I'm just sad that all the gifs and memes I made that I hosted on tinypic and Photobucket no longer exist.

realizing the mass migration of twitter to other sites also resulted in yet another tinypic extinction of context and information lmao

[A]
get the picture, upload it to tinypic or photobucket and paste the direct url and code in your headline! (edit profile section)

I think I can empathize. Like when I go looking through an old forum post where a bunch of gifs were and it's just a sea of tinypic/imgbucket broken links

That's almost as bad as burning millions to see the same thing, right?
Delighted to hear some NFTs are lost media
