TEXT IN IMAGE: im sharing a story on behalf of my friend whos username on r34 prior to this was cffecrmr. he drew and uploaded a solo piece of tord from eddworld as a trans man, as in a man with a vagina and top surgery scars. he uploaded it with the tags ftm and trans_male and etc. he looks at it again one day to see those tags gone, replaced with the tags "cuntboy" and "intersex". not only is that a gross fetishization and straight up incorrect categorization of intersex people, but the term cuntboy is also incredibly offensive. so he changed the tags. they were changed back. he changed them again. he was banned. from rule34. his post didnt get removed when he was banned, he had to personally email them and ask for it to be taken down. even then, r34 has an archive app, where everything thats been deleted is still there, so it was never truly taken down. lets see rule34's reasoning behind this: image see second image wow, isnt that just crazy. id like to highlight "The fact that an artist has stated that a character is transgender is also completely irrelevant", completely ignoring how an artist desires their art to be shown. I would also like to highlight that the claim here is that these tags do not adhere to a "strictly visual paradigm" despite the fact that bottom growth, tdick, bottom surgery scars, and top surgery scars, are all VISUAL DESPCRIPTIONS of physical features, and generally have nothing to do with being trans at all. a cis woman can have top surgery scars and bottom growth, a cis man can have bottom surgery scars. despite that it is also heavily hypocritical. what they choose to tag it with instead is "intersex", a real condition that real people have that, in their words, "it is almost always impossible to determine from appearance alone" that someone is intersex. and of course, instead of the tags trans woman and trans man, lets make sure not to offend anyone and use futa and cuntboy instead. those words arent offensive at all /sarcasm TEXT IN IMAGE: Now Viewing: trans_man Tag type: General This is an invalid tag and its use is prohibited. This tag should not be used and should be removed from any existing posts. This site strictly adheres to a visual tagging paradigm (i.e., "tag what you see"). The fact that a given character is canonically transgender is completely irrelevant. The fact that an artist has stated that a character is transgender is also completely irrelevant. The only information that matters when tagging is what is literally shown in an image. Even an image visually showing a character undergoing a sex change is insufficient to show that a character is transgender. Being transgender requires a mental state where a character feels that their sex conflicts with their gender in some way. The mere act of undergoing a sex change does not prove that a character feels that their gender conflicts with their sex. i swear to god i'm not arguing in bad faith. you're inverting the terms of what i'm saying. yes, categorizing a character who identifies and presents as male, and has a vulva, with trans_man would be correct. but trans men can dicks, too! trans women can obviously have vaginas. you see the problem?

i agree that dickboy and cuntgirl aren't the winners. but trans_man and trans_women obviously shouldn't be either if we're talking about identifying characteristics, because not every trans man and not every trans woman has the same body type. in fact, i genuinely believe it would be worse
