U’zula is…a surprise. Where at first Y’shtola had assumed he was just like any other Seeker male she’d met – and to be fair, he’d hit on her in ways each more abysmal than the last – he had a certain depth in those cerulean eyes. For all his bluster, his jokes and his teasing and his temper, there was something about him that made her feel seen. Caught, like prey. She realized that his bluster was a wall, and when they managed to have genuine conversations, she was left feeling wrong-footed. Perhaps that was why she propositioned him.

The first time he saw snow, it surprised him. U’zula was no stranger to the cold and didn’t mind it that much, even though his bones craved the rays of the Sagoli desert. But to look up and see grey clouds and small, white flecks fall in front of him cheered him. The only thing missing was, well, Y’shtola. He wondered what she thought of the snow, if she’d ever engaged in the sort of play he saw the children near Camp Dragonhead engage in. Perhaps he’d ask her next time he saw her.
