I've said it a hundred times but the actual most salient theme for elyan (broadly) in the canon I share with angel is consent/choice vs the lack of it. wherein, like it or not, the ascians represent choice, and the scions/venat/hydaelyn represent the absence of that. leaning into a ludonarratively

i counted meteion for the post but she doesn't really fill the niche/EDW doesn't really have an Expac Girl generally (the other figure who sort-of-but-not-exactly does it being venat) and i wonder if that's a part of what makes it feel kinda weird to me out of all of them

I think Im taking crazy pills bc I see the take that EW and Venat were cruel a lot but to me the entirety of Endwalker was about accepting life & living at its fullest, accepting life in it's entirety & uncertainty, ''to live is to suffer'' also means that feeling anything at all means youre alive
