I had “waakye” earlier today for brunch and it was a 7/10 for me.
Am I crazy to think the spaghetti and salad have no business sharing the same space with the “waakye” and sauce? 🤷🏽♂️
Beef sauce was very spicy to 😫🥵

president mahama said there'll be a ban on production of plastics and styrofoam. allaham'dillah! which means, my favorite waakye and yɔɔ kɛ gari will now be served in those almighty takeaway leaves as grown ghanaians knew as kids. we're coming around. we'll get back where we need be - eventually

Back in 2003 roughly my step mum make this Ghanaian mutton stew. Rich, so flavourful and spicy. In the summer I have Waakye rice. It was so good I was full for 15 hours. She is one of the best cooks ever. Just a little spice she will say. BUT WHAT spice!! How much? I will never know

real ghanaians know that those ghana-naija jollof debates only exist as a distraction to gatekeep waakye from the rest of the world. so i like to see those debates rage on, so waakye remains - hear me out - unsullied
