Luciana goes for some wild color choices w/ a bolder, stronger aesthetic. I think she was wanting to def make this cook book stand out from the Appetizers book. With that one, there's a more elegant approach (house parties, entertaining) & here, it's livelier, fun.

Adding to this thread feat. the versatility of Luciana "Lou" Peters - here, she takes a different approach in Good Housekeeping's Appetizer Book, 1958. While I find her work in the Summertime book more intriguing, here she goes for a more standard, brushy style of that time.
