Great piece by @garrettepps.bsky.social at WashMo on Judge Immergut's hearing on Oregon's request to enjoin (?is this the word?) the Trump Admin from sending National Guards to Portland to prevent radical antifarians from looting the city & burning it to the ground.

An enjoyable read; recommended.
Saturday Market unfolded as usual; 9,000 people ran the Portland Marathon; the Thorns beat Bay FC 2-1 and Powell's was jammed full of readers sipping kombucha. Oh, yeh--ICE personnel sent two 84-year-olds to the hospital after beating them to the ground. washingtonmonthly.com/2025/10/06/t...

Spent all week/weekend soaking up the WashMO fair so didn't get to the replay yet.

Enjoy 24 more hours of winning #AllForCITY bliss before we (probably) tear some of it down in #MLSMondays on Tuesday.

True story, Roy. In 2004, seeking to understand US politics after Kerry lost, I waded into the lefty blogosphere. The first place I landed was Drum’s Political Animal at WashMo. It was him in those very early days who steered me to you as a funny guy worth reading.

There's a total of 2 BlueSky members in Washington, MO, and I know both of them.

Late on this, but enjoyed @hochman314.bsky.social’s Veterans Day profile of Washington, Missouri’s own Frank Saucier.

The only WashMo native ever to play in the Major Leagues. Glad to read he’s doing well.
Hochman: A Veterans Day call with a 98-year-old WWII vet, ex-St. Louis MLB player
Frank Saucier, who played for the St. Louis Browns, is one of five living Major League Baseball players who also served in World War II, according to a historian.
