Today I learned about Nadia Boulanger (1887-1979), and I'm ashamed it took me so long. She was a French composer, conductor, and teacher who taught for many years in the U.S., including at Juilliard. Her students included Aaron Copland and Philip Glass. This is a big discovery for me.
