Black streaks in the water? It could be charcoal. ⚫🌊
Charcoal from wildfires or erosion can show up as powder or chunks. It’s natural, odourless, and leaves black smudges when touched.

Today I got 8 plants from a local native and waterwise plant group. They promote planting plants that don't need regular watering here in western WA. This year I got a bit of a mix - 4 native pearly everlasting, 1 non-native Cornelian-cherry Dogwood, and 3 big blue sea holly. 🌱

After the lawn is gone:
✨ Loosen compacted soil (no deep tilling!)
✨ Mulch 2–3" to save water & block weeds
✨ Group plants by water needs & bloom times to feed pollinators year-round 🐝🌸

⚠️ Dead trees = danger.
Dry, neglected trees can fall, fuel fires, and threaten your home.
🌳 Keep trees healthy with deep watering especially in dry spells.
