Say hi to Benny, the newest member of my family. Auntie @drsarahgiles.bsky.social is besotted; Echo thinks that her little brother (10 months old) is coming along nicely, but needs to chill out a bit. She's right, as usual. #FosterFail

Benny the foster dog knows how to select a properly fitting life jacket. What's your excuse? #BoatingSafety

Triscuit the foster puppy has found his furever home and will be joining them tomorrow. Echo really gets the major of credit for teaching this little one the ways of the world and keeping him entertained. We will miss him terribly, but we are thrilled for him (and our sleep cycles...).

Foster puppy Triscuit haș a meet and greet with a potential new human mom and doggie brother. Echo and I are excited for him (and the prospect of sleep), but we're also pretty gutted!

My grad students (who are writing with me at my house) and I are using an adaptation of the Pomodoro Technique for writing. It is called the Pupodoro Technique. We let Triscuit (my foster puppy) out to pee every 30mins...

Echo and Triscuit the foster puppy are getting along very well. She is such a good girl and is doing a great job of helping me to rear this little baby shark.

This is one of the reasons why I, a qualitative research, reject the idea that there is no bias in quant research!

Thanks so much. We are devastated. But, we are also so glad that we had the chance to love him.

Last night, we had to say goodbye to the very best boy, our beloved Bubba, who became very ill very quickly. @drsarahgiles.bsky.social flew in. We had snuggles, ice cream, and shared a final great day together, surrounded by love. Rest well, BubBub. We will miss you with every breath that we take.

It's Echo's 8th birthday! She is smart, opinionated, and sassy. She takes her duties in the neighbourhood Squirrel Defence League very seriously. She has mastered the "duck, roll, and cuddle" move on the couch at 9pm every night. I love this little girl with all my heart!

I'll miss cutting through it to get to the Market...

There have been many things about Trudeau and the Liberals that have disappointed me. Nevertheless, I have been very impressed with Trudeau's ability to act as statesperson and to say what needs to be said - especially today in his takedown of Trump's latest measures. Credit where credit is due.

I play "name that tune" at the beginning of every class. We have a tournament of champions at the end of the semester!

There has been a lot of chatter today about Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump, some regarding this moment when White House correspondent Brian Glenn asked if the Ukrainian president plans to wear a suit. I want to address idea in this thread. 🧵

"COREQ & Situating Research Values"-A reflection on @ginnybraun.bsky.social & @vicclarke.bsky.social (2024) who argue that COREQ serves to “normalise certain standards as universal...[threatening] #qualitative quality" rather than "situated...in relation to our wider research values" bit.ly/4cq5c8D
COREQ & Situating Research Values
Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research or COREQ (Tong et al., 2007) has been widely discussed in the literature. COREQ consists of a 32-item “checklist” which “w…

I received Premier Doug Ford's $200 bribe today (given to all residents of Ontario over 18). This $2 billion should have been put into healthcare, education, and social systems. I've thus done what Ford didn't do and donated it to orgs that support those things.
