DEI exists so companies cannot block QUALIFIED candidates based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, orientation, etc.

It is NOT used to force companies to hire the unqualified.

Meanwhile, the process of confirming cabinet appointees has had nothing to do with qualifications, except fealty.

It can feel foolish to pause to marvel at the stars when the world is burning. Or to find the world beautiful when you’ve known it to betray you.

But wonder is a liberation practice. A reminder that we contain more than tragedy. Beauty is our origin and our anchor.

Notice from NCAN, which was emailed to counselors and other college advisors. It says that, although the Higher Education Act prohibits use of personal data except to determine f/a eligibility, NCAN "cannot assure you at this time that data submitted will be protected" or that it won't be used to identify & target people. It says that, for some people, the risks of submitting a FAFSA will outweigh the benefits.
