This mornings partial solar eclipse. TIL what a lens flare was. The little blue reflection on the right is the shadow sun. Cool hey?

I keep being tempted. A couple of colleagues at work swear by them. And they looked pretty bloody good.

Yeah I’d value that info too. The statements are so vanilla :-(. Prob all been thru GPT

We’ve published an Open Letter calling on NZ leaders to deliver risk-based AI regulation & a national oversight body. AI has huge potential, but harms (deepfakes, gendered abuse, bias) are real and rising. Read the Letter (and sign it if you agree!) #nzpol

Haven’t read the book but I’ve got a 55+ friend that swears by creatine for menopause. With a gym active teen in the house I have endless supply. Might be a goer??

Fascinating and “next level” disturbing. Really worth the read.

So you're going to "teach AI" this year. That's great!

Nuanced article on the intended scrapping of NCEA from my fab colleague @dchpomeroy.bsky.social
aunz.theconversation.com
The end of NCEA marks a return to a more standardised, exam-focused way of learning. But for some students, successfully finishing high school just got harder.
NCEA isn’t perfect but NZ shouldn’t forget why it was introduced in the first place

Whew long 4 hours for #internetNZ AGM. Tense in parts, funny in others. Glad members motions defeated and to see @dylanreeve.com make it through. Got to keep looking on the bright side. #notawin for FSU.

And gotta love the “screen saver” mishap!
cherylbrown.bsky.social
Shoutout to Simon from Mi-voice at the #internetNZ AGM for looking so cool calm and collected each time the spotlight turns to him! With this many motions you gotta hold it together 😂
cherylbrown.bsky.social
I’m here to the end for that! Thanks to my Bluesky peeps for getting me involved in the first place.
cherylbrown.bsky.social
What’s your strategy. Have to admit mines 🍷😂

First #internetnz AGM and whilst I’m not excited about a 3 hr Thurs night zoom, I am appreciating the accessibility features, and scaffolding and time given to participants as they try out new systems and become familiar with process. Although the “Muzak” is driving me a bit crazy 🤪

Same here. Multi tasking dinner with laptop on kitchen table. As an educator I appreciate the scaffolded “assessment” instructions.
