I've got a student who would love to do some #PhD research on #TouretteSyndrome and the dismantling of the invisible/visible disability binary. Is there anyone in my network in the UK who is accepting #SocialScience PhD students / sponsoring them for #ESRC funding?

Something doesn't sit well with me, seeing the same people in the Tourettic (Read: #TouretteSyndrome) community who publicly accuse social media creators of faking tics whilst simultaneously being excited about a non-Tourettic actor *acting* #TS in the new "I Swear" film...

Hi BlueSky. Here's your semi-regular reminder to stop calling people 'dumb' (or things like this) for their political views... or *anything* for that matter! Your ableism is not excused just because you identify as left-wing. 🫠

Added a couple of new additions to the hand-poked tattoo collection today!

#Tattoo #HandPoked
The back of Daniel's calf with lots of thick lined tattoos in black ink, including a large eagle design and a new tattoo of handwritten text that reads "free the people" The right side of Daniel's lower legs can be seen, featuring a new doodle-styled tattoo of a cat in a wonky frame, below an older abstract floral design.

UKIP have been given permission to march through Newcastle City Centre tomorrow to a hotel housing asylum seekers and people with refugee status.

Please email complaints and concerns to Northumbria Police and Newcastle politicians (MPs and councillors).

Link to template letter in alt text.

Social media app notifications are getting wild. Why am I being notified that someone "has commented on a post you haven't seen"? These apps are getting desperate to get people's attention now...

Had a wonderful day at the Wheely Workshop with @durhamimh.bsky.social and the Moving Bodies Lab today. My notepad and brain are full of thoughts to reflect on about things ranging from mountain biking to prams to museums, all connecting disability, moving bodies, and public space 🤩

The face of a cat who woke her humans up at 4am by punching them - still adorable though 😄😸

In a moment of impulsivity I entered the ballot for the Great North Run 2026...I'm excited to announce that I was *unsuccessful* in getting a place and that I can continue to run casually this year 😂

So glad it was of use!! Happy to chat more if you have questions 😁

I’m so glad that you found use in this, we need to see more of these conversations! Today is actually my last day working on the Wellcome Anti-Ableist Research Cultures team, but the project website and future updates can be found at sheffield.ac.uk/ihuman/waarc ☺️

Ooh this is such a fun response! I'm literally just using an Asda branded A4 notebook here, but I swear by Leuchtturm dotted notebooks when I can get my hands on them for cheap! The fountain pen is a fine-tipped Kaweco Classic Sport in the colour 'honey', and I'm using Kaweco Royal Blue ink! 🤩

I thoroughly agree with Rob's call to share our practice, especially as geographers for whom many find ourselves working geographically from outside of geography departments, myself included. Lots of food for thought. For now, here's what today's practice looks like (In addition to BlueSky babbling)
A yellow fountain pen with a gold nib and the pen's lid lie on top of a lined notebook, with scribbly notes taken in a dark blue ink.

We're excited to see our paper published in @bmj.com BMJ Open today!

The paper highlights lacking prioritisation for #TicDisorders & #TS, compounded by a healthcare system with no space for multidisciplinary approaches!

Always a pleasure to work with these folks! 🤩
