CPC-CG researchers analysed data about #publichealthfunerals (PHFs) from hundreds of Freedom of Information requests carried out by BBC South News.

The study also highlights an urgent need for national PHF data coordination and further research to forecast demand as deprivation and kinlessness rise

Connecting Generations Meet the Team Professor Jane Falkingham CBE Professor of Demography and International Social Policy, University of Southampton Role Summary: As PI of Connecting Generations, with my colleagues, I help shape the research we do and the impact it makes. What inspired your work? Growing up, I became increasingly aware of inequalities, and how these accumulate across the life course. I wanted to do work that highlighted the changing needs of people at different stages of the life course and contributed to societal change. What is the best part of your work? I still enjoy data analysis, especially when new findings are finally revealed. What are you most proud of? Seeing my students grow and blossom and forge their own careers, both in academia and within the public and private sector.
