Un hélicoptère de nos Forces armées en Nouvelle-Calédonie (FANC) aide le service météo et géohazards du Vanuatu à accéder aux stations de surveillance de Paama (météo) et d’Ambrym (volcan). Un appui essentiel pour anticiper et détecter les catastrophes dans les zones les plus isolées.
Nos Forces armées en Nouvelle-Calédonie (FANC) restaurent régulièrement des écoles au Vanuatu (Opérations Castor). Reconnaissance du prochain chantier sur l'île d'Ambae avec notre collègue Delphine Sumu. Le collège de Tagaga nécessite d’importants travaux de rénovation. Ils seront menés en 2026.
L'ambassade de France au Vanuatu est partenaire de la Yasur Volcano Run, un trail unique de 25km (800D+) et 38km (950D+) sur l'île de Tanna, qui soutient les communautés locales. Rendez-vous après-demain sur le volcan Yasur !

Two birds with one stone. While traveling to Vanuatu, our Armed Forces in New Caledonia transported a team from “Solidarité Tanna”—a French-funded association of general practitioners, dentists, nurses, etc., who will provide free medical care to residents of remote islands.

Together with Prof. Jean-Marie Fotsing (New Caledonia University), we reviewed the FALAH project on family farming in several Pacific countries, including Vanuatu, with €1.3 million in European funding. Among other things, it has helped to “launch” around ten Vanuatu doctoral students.
Avec le prof. Jean-Marie Fotsing (Univ. Nouvelle-Calédonie), nous avons fait le point sur le projet FALAH sur l'agriculture familiale dans plusieurs pays du Pacifique dont le Vanuatu, avec un financement européen de 1,3M€. Il aura notamment permis de "lancer" une dizaine de doctorants vanuatais.

The French Embassy in Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands welcomes a new non-resident defense attaché based in Nouméa: LCDR Pierre-François Maux. During his visit to Port Vila, he met with local officials and reviewed current issues with us.

At the 13th Meeting of States Parties to the Oslo Convention on Cluster Munitions (16–19 Sept.), France welcomed Vanuatu’s accession to this major humanitarian instrument, which will make it the 112th State Party. Thanks to colleagues in Geneva!
