Sending our condolences to the loved ones of Robert Redford. He shared a special friendship with President Carter, even helping him prepare for election debates by watching tapes of the Nixon-Kennedy debates with him. President Carter said Redford’s advice helped him win.

The Center released its preliminary statement on Guyana’s election. While reforms should be made to create a more level playing field and increase voters’ trust in the electoral process, Board Chair Jason Carter said the Guyanese people should take pride in how election day unfolded.
