Curious about the fascinating Catholicon print? We recommend recent papers by @farleypkatz.bsky.social, advancing credible evidence that Needham's slugs theory must be false... This has serious implications for the dating and attribution of the print! TBC. independent.academia.edu/FarleyKatz

In the earlier keynote, @mikekestemont.bsky.social presented an eco-computational approach to estimate the number of forgotten authors in the (ancient) Greek cultural production. He showed how he used a (bio)statistical model, filled with #TM (Authors/Works) numbers to calculate a minimum figure!

Thx for your generosity! I normally work with something like GEXF, but any raw data I can import into Gephi would be great!
mikekestemont.bsky.social
Looks awesome! I have to teach a session on Gephi for philologists soon in Antwerp: any chance you could share the data files for one of these beautiful networks already? (With proper attribution and reference to the book of course!)

Through a contextualized reading, I argue that the manuscript has captured its maker coming to terms with the schismatic unrest in his 14th c. monastic community.

Were some medieval books only meant to be read by their very own makers? In my latest article (Quaerendo 2024), I argue that Ghent, UL, 1374 was indeed such a private manuscript:

Could I reach out via DM or email with some newbie questions about Roman coins? 🙏
mikekestemont.bsky.social
Dear friends, do I know anyone here who has experience in (digital) numismatics, in particular coin finds from Roman Antiquity? (Please repost if you might know someone!)

Thx for any pointers.
