My response to the twisting of MLK's "judged by the content of their character" quote to justify colorblindness. As someone who has read dozens of King's writings, this misrepresentation irritates me EVERY TIME it happens, including last week during the Congressional hearing in which I testified.
King Misrepresented in Anti-DEI Congressional Hearing
Any policy or practice in higher education or elsewhere that insists on colorblindness is a misrepresentation of King’s stance.

My newest article is NOT about litigation against employers. Instead, it's about suing those who've become social media famous for lying on DEI professionals and boasting about their roles in getting those workers fired. They should be held legally accountable, if possible.
OP-ED: Can Fired DEI Professionals Sue Attackers For Defamation?
Could those who have been fired due to DEI sue spreaders of misinformation and disinformation for defamation?

Remember, fired DEI professionals are people — people whose lives and careers are being devastated by evil, divisive politics and misinformation. The people deserve better, I insist in my newest TIME article.
The Human Cost of Trump Firing All Federal DEI Workers
Professor Shaun Harper explains how President Donald Trump's decision to eliminate all federal DEI-related jobs negatively impacts workers.

U.S. President Joe Biden sent this letter thanking me for my service to our country. I want him and Vice President Kamala Harris to know how grateful I am for theirs. I will continue to honor them as I serve the remainder of my term over the next 3 years.

Here’s the link to my newest article. As noted therein, I think it’s disgusting that anti-DEI opportunists are using this crisis to further advance their reckless, divisive misinformation agenda. It’s not what we need here in L.A. right now. Make it stop.
Don’t Blame DEI for the L.A. Fires
A USC professor explains how DEI isn’t to blame for the L.A. fires, despite false claims from divisive opportunists.
