This is also why height anxiety has exploded among men, if you’re shorter than 6 ft you get filtered out before a girl can even look at your profile. Not lying about your height is massive suboptimal move with no benefit, you can’t expect people to not do it just because it’s not “wholesome”

It’s not sociopathic or creepy, it’s just basic game theory being applied to online dating which in both literally and metaphorically a competition between males for female attention. It’s not so much a moral failing of men as it is a design failure of apps not to create perverse incentives
