As someone who has tried dating everyone (hi, I'm pan and nonbinary) I don't talk enough or enjoy higher levels of interaction necessary to sustain relationships with most women.

Also, I'm demi.

Gender doesn't matter - I'm just genuinely challenging for everyone.

Gave up trying to make the current carbide cutting tools work and ordered decent micrograin carbide cutting tools for the metal lathe.

I suppose it's similar to the difference between someone who loves watching a sport vs someone who loves playing it, someone who loves reading books vs someone who loves writing them.

This is challenging because people typically want to buy from someone Like Them. People seek out people like them - there's science reasons behind this - but this makes it challenging for me.

I mean, I love fountain pens but not for the same reasons.

It's the same for my paintings.

I love the challenge of taking art and design and materials and making something beautiful and functional within the constraints of a pen form.

My handwriting is, and has always been, terrible too. I type almost everything except my own journal and sketches. I typically have one pen inked, and that's it.

I understand why people ask me why and how I started making pens, because it's a strange profession to find yourself in. Logic dictates that I must have some obsession with pens or some fascinating story.

Skin care done, birds fed, dogs taken out, garden checked on, coffee made, and now I'm at the metal lathe.

Call it what you want - obsession, passion, crazy - but none of the greats were great because they did what they were great at causally.

When he met someone in a bar one Friday night and swapped social media handles, he asked AI what his next move should be.
ChatGPT discerned that sending an initial message on Monday midmorning would set the right pace. "Then it gave me some options for what the message could be," says Rich.
"Keep it light, warm, and low-stakes so it reads as genuine interest without urgency," the bot advised. "Something like: Hey Sarah, still laughing about [tiny shared moment/reference if you've got one] - good to meet you!" Rich went back and forth with ChatGPT until he felt they'd hit upon exactly the right message ("Hey Sarah, it was lovely to meet you") but sadly she never replied, he says. "It's been two weeks now."

oh my gosh, Adolphus is such a genuinely wonderful human being!!! I love getting to talk to him at shows, and he's always doing something neat with his pens!
