How’s the bridge buying business going?

People in Ireland undervalue the success that is RTÉ. Given the audience and state resources at its disposal it’s a daily triumph and an important part of the national fabric. Don’t play ‘mini-Brexit’ by wrecking things that work because you are bored or frustrated.

Even the very worst people shouldn’t be murdered in prison. There, said it.

Since a substantial proportion of the administration are ideologically-driven shock jocks this is probably approaching transactional now: ‘what do you want or need me to be angry about this week?’

There couldn’t be a bigger admission that you have nothing new to say or offer and have no serious ambitions for the country than this statement.

I played the Godfather trailer earlier (dealing with the ennui of a Saturday afternoon in the international break) and it ends on a shocked Diane Keaton looking through a closing door. She looked so very young.

Now well past the stage where most people - unlike me - have no first hand recollection of Apollo (I was 4 in 1969 and didn’t stay up but do remember it on TV the next day) but it still fascinates millions. The technology was primitive (barely been flying jets for 25 years) and so the achievement

You say you are gaining 3000 members a day and then accuse Farage’s mob of being liars. So you will be hitting 200k members in roughly 35 days then? Shall we check back then? Happy to also go for your lower limit of 175k by then if you like.

A company has a falling rate of profit, yes.... that's not what constitutes as systemic falling rate of profit. Read some books.

I haven't switched from a discussion of UK politics to global politics. I was discussing the Marxist claim of a choice between socialism and barbarism. That's a global choice, isn't it, from a Marxist perspective? You jumped in and started talking about UK incomes, not me.

I very obviously haven't said that. You haven't read any Marx, have you? Do you think we have human immiseration in the global capitalist system? Global median incomes have grown by about 6% since the 2008 crash.

A calculation that doesn’t include socially supplied goods. Are you are Marxist or a follower of the Austrian school? You can do better than that, surely?

The creepy adjacency of his argument to Cultural Marxism vileness plays well with US funders no doubt, but I just don't think it is anything but negative over here.
