Reading Tender Is the Flesh, a great book about industrialized cannibalism in the wake of a supposed virus that made all animal flesh deadly to humans, and as the author describes the breeding and slaughter process I grew more and more certain that we will be doing this in Texas within my lifetime.

Out on the porch. 2:00 AM. The ice cream truck has returned. The Smiling Man sells raw chupacabra meat in waffle cones.
