Take your favourite bits of The Thing. Add your favourite bits of Annihilation. Stir them up in a pot with Nick Cage ramping it up to eleven. Chuck in some alpacas to garnish. What have you made? You’ve made Color Out Of Space, that’s what you’ve made. Rubbish but loved it #justwatched #horrorsky
Wow, a kit of the Tu-91, the USSR’s version of the Fairey Gannet. Khrushchev cancelled this project in 1956 because of how ridiculous the thing looked #TupolevTuedays

In the Republic of Congo nearly 100% of the stations broke their monthly records.
It's the harshest and most extreme heat event ever seen in Western Africa.
Never happened anything like this before in the rainy season.

100% of all tropical countries in the world are breaking records: never happened

Reposting for #SukhoiSundays. I love the dazzle camouflage on this Su-35. This beauty is huge, it’s longer than a Lancaster bomber and is heavier too
An awesome piece of reverse engineering. Reposting the Tu-4 for #TupolevTuesdays
The Tupolev Tu-4 is a piston-engined Soviet strategic bomber that served the Soviet Air Force from the late 1940s to the mid-1960s. The aircraft was a copy of the American Boeing B-29 Superfortress, having been reverse-engineered from seized aircraft that had made emergency landings in the USSR.

One of my favourite games of the late 1990s, full of MiG-15 vs Sabre action (and including Shooting Stars and Mustangs too). Radio chatter gave it huge immersion. The box included a reprint of an original RAF evaluation report of the MiG-15 #MiGMondays #Games
The challenge is to choose 20 games that greatly influenced you. One game per day, for 20 days. No explanations, no reviews, no particular order.

Headed to Poland for the Su-22 retirement event and they had one last surprise for us, this is the final special tail scheme which was unveiled at the event. After the crazy events of this morning, I was worried this event wouldn't go ahead!
As a subscriber to the paper edition of the @economist.com it was great to see an article about India's MiG-21s in the magazine this weekend #MiGMondays
China now has around three combat aircraft for every Indian one, a higher ratio than a decade ago. As the MiG-21 flies into the sunset, that gap could grow
India is retiring its most celebrated warplane
The MiG-21 served in every Indian war for 50 years. It leaves a big gap

#SukhoiSundays

Many of us have probably thought at one time or another in our lives, ‘what would a Flanker look like if I launched it out of the barrel of a cannon?’

well now we know
In the absence of a decent carrier, Russian naval engineers experiment with launching jets from inshore cannons. Here, a Sukhoi SU-27 “Flanker” test shot demonstrates too much yaw emerging from the gun. And it’s just a shit-ton of Gs on the pilots.
#justwatched Miami Vice (2006) again. I only discovered this film last year and thought on first viewing it was just ok. Michael Mann has made much better films than this. MV is shallow, nihilistic, pretty to look at but strangely edited.

Now, of course, I think it’s near perfect
Not as bad as some sequels and TBF it’s a lot better than any of the movies that Neil Marshall himself (director of part 1) has recently made. But part 1 is a masterpiece
