An introduction for new folk, I guess

I play indie games, traditional roguelikes (DCSS, Angband, etc), board games, card games, tabletop RPGs

I have degrees in medieval history

I wrote unnecessarily verbose flavour text for a jam game once

Capitalism gives me the ick

Choosing a single favourite is tough! I love CrossCode, Roadwarden, Paradise Killer, the Shantae games...

What about you? Any standouts?

To this day, still the only band I've ever seen serve as their own support band

Every time I dust off some classic Lacuna Coil after not listening to them for a while, I'm always surprised anew at how good they are.

This isn't even one of their best songs but it's still really good

Also, not to be unfairly dismissive of the rest of the band, but let's face it - Cristina Scabbia's distinctive voice is a large part of why this works

How...how is this possible? I've only upgraded to PS4 in the last couple of years...

Ugh, I have to go to the shop at lunchtime because I forgot one crucial item when I went yesterday

It doesn't always look like that. It's mostly more GBC

Game Boy Colour Morrowind has some surprisingly good art

But enough about Fern. What are we looking at?

Oh dear god, it looks like a ferret wearing the skin from an undercooked roast chicken

With the recent release of Battlefield 6, let's raise a glass to the best, and yet also most overlooked, of the console-era Battlefield games

Here's the link and some of the sweet thematic beepage. Seems to be expanding from the initial proof-of-concept into what might hopefully be a full lil game.

Game Boy Color visions of a Bitter Coast journey to Vivec.

Trying out a lil Game Boy game jam Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind fan adventure game that's got a whole glob of talent and charm behind it.
A pixel GBC scene of a silt strider rising above a fittingly swampy and tall mushroom strewn landscape in horizontal perspective. A tall grey mountain rises above the dithered mist.

Yeah, they were good too. I liked how relatively lighthearted the story of Bad Company 1 was. A bunch of shit, unreliable soldiers decide to steal gold during a war

Also the only mulitplayer shooter where I consistently placed mid to high most of the time. Something about it just gelled for me
