It’s not me trying to compare it to the original, and the film is stunningly shot as I expected

But I think a lot to how that specifically cited itself as a chain of short stories and how that was engrained into its story, plus the medium

It’s also never avoiding that comparison

Considering the casting the demographics of the audience is unsurprising, but I am also surrounded on all sides by schoolgirls and feel very out of place as someone a decade older just chilling here between two separate groups lol

This split is actually some of the biggest news in a while, because Komeito support isn’t just in seats but in their support share propping up LDP seats

It’s likely both will lose from this and it could open the door for a new partner (likely Shinseito if so and yikes), or the opposition

(Their film strips sold out, alas, which was the only of the goods I was eying up… unlike similar goods seen with films they made a 35mm film strip and each random strip is four frames of the film, and they did it with one print of the movie only… neat enough that I wanted to go for it but alas)

In an interview produced for 5cm Per Second’s 2008 DVD release, Shinkai talked about how his goal was to manipulate time like only animation can to tell a story with no clear-cut ‘fault’ for a failed relationship, told in 60mins to avoid it disrupting someone’s life while telling a complete message

And while I have my qualms with the progression and function of such games that I think need regulation etc, I think that’s a different question

This needs clarifying, because the raw numbers on the industry are weighted heavily by the success of these games too

But I also think that’s a separate problem than the one facing games more broadly. The progression of these endless games and online services is so different it differs to, say, a casual moviegoer versus a film buff

Do they like games, or like Fortnite/Genshin/Roblox/GTA, is the question

I’d be curious to see the numbers on whether this means the ‘core’ gaming audience has actually grown in the last decade at all

I could see a circumstance where sure, gaming has grown, but if you remove people who only play F2P, only play Fortnite, etc, the population has stagnated

Hyper enthusiast, price-insensitive players are really keeping things going, especially in the non f2p gaming space.

According to Circana's Q3 2025 Future of Games, only 4% of US video game players buy a new game more often than once per month, with a third of players not buying any games at all.

Like I said, I like how most of this is no-photo

I want to document things, capture them, capture people, I do that… but not constructed, and there’s value in only remembering it too

One or two, ok, but mostly your photo will be the same as everyone else… the only thing we skipped yesterday was an exhibit just of ‘here’s iconic scenes, take photos’ inside the Warehouse

There were no inside photos, which I like (and most outdoor photos I took on my digicam rather than my phone to keep this thing in my bag), but there are a lot of outdoor spots for photos
