As a permalancer I am a secret 4th thing. Person who posts in order to get job.
there are some people who post because it's their job, some people who post like it's their job, and some people who post in spite of their job. you really want to avoid that second one

one day, over ten years ago, a person from a local video game fb group said they were looking for writers for a blog. something inside pushed me to put my name in, despite never considering myself a writer up to that point. it’s been a whirlwind with countless ups and downs. but i’m very glad i did

Literally Reb and I had a whole ass conversation about this a couple weeks back and both felt so so strongly that it’s a hard no. If I could use my video game ✨expertise✨ and motherhood status to impart any sort of advice on fellow parents, it’s keep your kids off Roblox
If we have a kid we are absolutely forbidding Roblox. I know I will inevitably cave on a number of other stupid things all their little friends are doing, but this is a hard line in the sand that no amount of screaming will change.
Oh my god that is the worst possible answer

here’s my review of dispatch - romance is forced, its interactive elements feel largely disjointed, and in telltale fashion, the story struggles to assess choices that veer from the “intended” paths. but i still had a good time, and the episodic format fit the modern tv communal fomo like a glove

my contributor gig at endless mode is drastically changing in november, going from a weekly piece to a monthly one. as such, i’m available to take on more freelance work. i got experience with reporting, criticism, evergreen stuff, consulting, and anything in between.
